Week 3: Share God’s Abundance
1 Peter 4:10
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.
Reflect: Stewardship of buildings requires diverse gifts—financial support, physical upkeep, planning, and prayer. How can you use your gifts to help maintain our shared church home?

Week 3: Share God’s Abundance
1 Corinthians 3:16
Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?
Reflect: While the physical church building is a vital tool for ministry, the true church is made of people. How can we ensure our church facility serves to build up the living temple of believers?

Week 3: Share God’s Abundance
Psalm 84:1-2a
How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts! My soul longs, indeed it faints for the courts of the Lord…
Reflect: For many in our community, GUMC is a place of refuge during life’s hardest storms. When we invest in our facilities, we ensure our church remains a welcoming place for all seeking peace.

Week 3: Share God’s Abundance
Psalm 99:5
Extol the Lord our God; worship at his footstool. Holy is he!
Reflect: Physical spaces dedicated to God help focus our hearts on worship. Maintaining our sanctuary, Sunday school rooms, and gathering spaces is a quiet form of devotion that honors God’s holiness.

Week 3: Share God’s Abundance
Exodus 33:18-19a
Moses said, ‘Show me your glory, I pray.’ And God said, ‘I will make all my goodness pass before you…’
Reflect: God met Moses in a physical place—the cleft of a rock. Our church facility serves as a physical sanctuary where generations encounter God’s goodness through prayer, sacrament, and fellowship.

Week 3: Share God’s Abundance
Matthew 22:21b
Then Jesus said to them, ‘Give therefore to the emperor the things that are the emperor’s, and to God the things that are God’s.’
Reflect: coins carry the image of earthly leaders, but human beings carry the image of God (Imago Dei). Caring for our church home provides a space where people bearing God’s image gather to be nurtured, healed, and sent forth.

Week 2: Trust God’s Promise
Hebrews 13:5
Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be content with what you have; for he has said, ‘I will never leave you or forsake you.’”
Reflection: Contentment is the ultimate antidote to financial anxiety. God’s promise to never leave us gives us deep security that money could never buy.

Week 2: Trust God’s Promise
1 Timothy 6:17
Command those who in the present age are rich not to be haughty, or to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but rather on God who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
Reflect: Riches are inherently uncertain, but God’s promises are steadfast. Placing our hope in God enables us to enjoy what we have without letting our possessions possess us.
